The Prime Tip[]

  • This is a GAME! If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right.
    • That said, most people enjoy "winning". These tips may help you min/max a number of aspects of the game so as to proceed more quickly and to develop the best team of champions you can in the shortest amount of time without spending boatloads of real world time & cash.

The Champion Display[]

  • This game is...in a word... INTRICATE. There is a LOT that new players need to know
  • One thing that players should understand is the Main Champion Display.
  • Another thing that players should understand is the Champion Portrait Display

Top 10 Freshman Tips[]

  • 1-Focus on your "starter" but don't be blind to other champions you will encounter along the way. - Most people would agree that Kael is the best choice for most people.
  • 2-Consult the tier lists when deciding which champions to develop and which to use as fodder.
  • 3-Do your Daily chores. The game makes it easy to develop your champions by giving you rewards for tasks that you'd probably want to do anyway. Complete all of the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly quests that you can whilst pursuing your own goals and gather in the rewards, particularly the silver, the energy and the gems that Whales with too much money on their hands spend freely for. Also be sure to grab the daily rewards in the Shop and the Daily Login rewards. It's often helpful to "Check the Chore Chooser Checklist".
  • 4-With a few minor exceptions do NOT waste duplicate champions in "booking" skills. Rares and above can be better employed as faction guardians.
  • 5-Join a clan ASAP. Even if it's NOT the clan you'll end up in, one needs a clan to begin cashing in on Clan Quests and the daily rewards of battles with the clan's Demon Lord and Hydra.
  • 6-As much as possible try to use your energy so that it can continue to accrue.
  • 7-Familiarize yourself with the "Maxi-ATK Skills" Those that do big damage. e.g HP Burn does 3% damage based on the target's max HP. Even with passive skills that lessen that, it's a significant amount of damage against Bosses like The Demon Lord et. al. Poison is another that packs a larger than expected wallop because of that. HP Burn also has the added advantage of doing damage not just to the target but to their whole party.
  • 8-Understand the importance of SPD. A big hitter is no good to you if they die before landing any blows.
  • 9 - When fighting battles in AUTO mode it's still possible to designate one foe to be targeted by preference simply by clicking on him. You'll see he gets a red target crosshatch. It's good to know this when facing Arena foes like the Ultimate Deathknight who gets stronger the more teammates he loses.
  • 10 - Check out Frugal Farming

Lesser Tips[]

  • Take advantage of special events and tournaments. It's wise to benefit from the near continual Events & Tournaments while progressing your Champions.
  • Grinding aka Farming - Do not grind without the XP-booster. If you're short a booster, one CAN be purchased for gems - spend some energy working with your already maxxed champions in the Dungeons, the Arena & The Doom Tower
  • Do your chores. Be sure to collect all the daily quests & make certain the weeklies and monthlies are done before the daily counter clicks over.
  • Clear as many Advanced Quests as possible before they get refreshed. Every one cleared is one step closer to another "special gift."
  • Make sure that you spend all your daily demon lord, faction war, & doom tower keys if possible. Free stuff at no energy cost is a good thing.
  • Never invest in artifacts from the market - better equipment will come your way easily enough as you progress through the game.
  • Percentage Stats Bonuses for stats like HP, ATK, & DEF on Artifacts are ALWAYS better than flat stat boosts.
  • The almost constant schedule of 2x and 10x shard events are tempting and newer players can probably get their best value by immediately summoning champions with their available shards.
    • Once one has a solid collection of heroes, some thought needs to be given to amassing an inventory of shards so that one can take advantage of the guarantees that the 2x events feature. These may require anywhere from 10 shards to 150 or possibly more.
  • Don't be afraid to check out the higher level clan quests. Depending on who your champions are, some are easier than the lower level ones.
    • e.g. Spirithost has an A2 ability of Increase ATK. She's also a good choice as a Tag Team leader early on as she gives a speed boost to all on her team. Having her use her A2 as an opener in Tag team matches is a good idea anyway and it'll get you four buffs closer to the "Place 100 Increase ATK buffs in Tag team wins" required to meet the "Expert" Level Clan quest. Winning 25 bouts with her as the leader in any six day period is eminently doable.
  • Be aware that this game is unlike most other fantasy D&D related games. The player DOES get rewards even from many LOST matches - Those rewards are just scaled down. Don't be afraid to fail.
Battle is lost but there are still rewards in Coin & Experience

Over-reached in this battle and lost but the champions still gained some experience (XP) and we were rewarded with silver. Since no-one survived to loot the fallen there were no Artifacts won

  • Repeated battling is a major part of leveling up one's champions. While the built in Multi-Battle facility is incredibly useful it's limited as to the number of repeats one is allowed. Auto Hot-key is an alternative but it's a bit less full featured. One can check it out and get a copy by following the links in this You-Tube video https://youtu.be/5JJ1X_nQdkk
